Some People Are Too Weird To Make Up

Filed under: Random Fun.It seems this is going to be a recurring feature on my blog: “Some (Nouns) are too Weird to Make Up.” The random guy who approached me at Quincy Market yesterday certainly fit into the odd people category. He was wearing a Larry Bird jersey tucked into some cut-off denim shorts. This was the conversation:
Guy: Hi.
Me: Hello.
Guy: (pulling a fake diamond ring out of his pocket) My name is Greg. Do you want to go on a date and maybe get married?
Me: (laughing) I’m already married.
Guy: Oh, okay.
And then he walked away. I was tempted to follow him to see if he did it to anyone else, but I had to go meet a friend. This just goes to show that there is validity in the age-old saying that truth is stranger than fiction. It also shows that if you want ideas for bizarre characters, all you have to do is hang out in tourist spots in Boston.
