WIP Update

I’d love to say that my work in progress (code name Lightning) is going swimmingly, but alas things have been a bit slow. I met with my writing group on Friday and they gave me some wonderful feedback for the first few chapters, but they also made me realize I had to go back and rethink some things (which will hopefully help me get unstuck). This means that my word count has actually gone down because I’ve had to take out some things. And I came down with a cold this week which hasn’t exactly helped with the writing. Oh well. I plan on getting back into the swing of things tomorrow and I just got a book from the library that will help me enormously with the research bit.

In other news, it seems giving away free ebooks is the wave of the future. Thanks to HarperTeen, you can read the first quarter of Rampant by Diana Peterfreund online for free. I’ve heard great things about this book – considering it’s about evil unicorns, I’m intrigued to read it!

    Good luck getting unstuck! That’s always the worst, though new research is a fun way to get the wheels turning.

    Thanks! I’m actually working on it now and my writing group’s comments have been very helpful. I haven’t gotten to the research yet, but I’m hoping that will push me even further along :-)
