NaNo Update and a Book Giveaway!

Well, it’s official: I’ve managed to finish NaNo for the second year in a row! It was an uphill battle this year mostly because of one scene I was stuck on, but on Saturday I forced my husband to brainstorm with me until I had it figured out. Once that scene was completed, I filled in bits and pieces throughout the manuscript until I hit 50,010 words.


Congrats to anyone out there who worked on NaNo this month, whether or not you officially “won.” November is all about getting into a steady writing routine, so even if you didn’t get down 50k words, if you managed to pump up your writing habits, that’s a prize all in itself.

    Congrats, Anna! How do you feel about the book? Is the draft finished, or will it be more than 50K?

    Thanks Anne! I’m actually very happy with the book; it has some definite rough spots but I think they’re fixable. I have a complete first draft now (just around 50k) which I plan to put away for a little bit before I dive back in to start revising.

    Congrats on finishing! This is my 5th year writing and I’m procrastinating right now (bad idea on the last day, but it’s early still). :) Making it through to 50K is such an awesome feeling. Well done!
