In the Revision Cave

I’m writing this from a cave deep in Revision Land. It’s a frightening place where WIPs circle around you and taunt you with their unwieldiness. But fear not. I’m going to conquer those beastly WIPs, even if it takes all winter.

Right now there are three of them lingering nearby. One is my NaNo project and its grin is the widest because it knows what a challenge it will be to get it to behave. Another is a funny adventure story; it zips around the cave giggling to itself, daring me to figure out its plot. And languishing in the corner is an older project I’ve been working on for a long time. It’s quiet and drowsy, but I think if I poke at it enough with a stick, it might yet come back to life.

How are your WIPs behaving? Any chance of crawling out of the revision cave soon?

I’m so there with you. I’ve been tackling a whale of a WIP into thinner skin. Hope to surface some time before the new year!

Ooh, that sounds like a messy undertaking. Good luck with it!

I am revising one project, which is slowly progressing. And I’m happy with it’s direction, and hoping that the revision pace picks up a bit. I’m also finishing up the end of my NaNo project, and sizing up that big revision project. I’m excited to end the year with two solid mss.

I’m soooo deep in my revision cave right now. What day is it? How is the weather outside? Ha.

Two solid manuscripts in a year is pretty amazing! I hope 2010 is just as productive for you. :-)

Haha, I’m right there with you Karen! But have faith – we’ll crawl our way out eventually.
