This weekend I had the pleasure of attending the launch party for Leah Cypess’s new YA fantasy, Mistwood. Leah and I are both members of the Enchanted Inkpot, so it was great to meet her in person. The event was a lot of fun, and of course I left with my shiny new signed copy of Mistwood (which has been promoted to the very top of my reading list).
Here are a couple of pictures:
That’s Leah on the left, me in the middle, and fellow writer and blogger Heather Kelly on the right.

And here we are with another member of the Inkpot, Nandini Bajpai, and her daughter. As you can tell, we were all very excited to have our shiny new copies of Mistwood. Did I mention the book is shiny? I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about it, so I can’t wait to read it!
And speaking of the Enchanted Inkpot, there is a great post up today on The Art of Revising a Novel that features lots of great advice – swing by and check it out.

Woo-hoo! What fun. And proof. Proof that we were actually there! Thanks for posting the pictures, and for the fun time yesterday. There is nothing like meeting virtual friends in real life!!
Yay! Thanks for coming, both you and Heather. And thanks for the pictures!
It must of been warm there, everyone is in tank tops! I am jealous when writers get to meet up. Looks like such fun!
I’m really sorry I live so far away (the west coast). I would have loved to attend!
Congratulations, Leah! And thanks for the pictures, Anna, that let us be a part of it.
Heather, I’m so glad you came! Maybe next time I’ll remember to bring my camera so Ray won’t have to play paparazzo.
Leah, it was so great to meet you! I’m glad we were able to be there for your book’s birthday party!
Tina, it was 90 degrees!! NOT typical spring weather in Massachusetts, but we’ll take it!
Robin, I know all the Inkies were there in spirit. I hope one day we’ll all be able to be in the same place at the same time!
I just said on Heather’s blog that I’m so JEALOUS! I’d love to meet you all in person.
Awesome! Looks like you all had a great time. And the book cover looks sweet!
Looks like fun. Just one book on my tbr list!
Lisa, I’m usually terrified of meeting new people, but somehow meeting up with people I “know” online is much less scary. Hopefully one day we’ll all be able to get together!
Lydia, the book cover is SO pretty. I was sitting there petting it for a while.
Laura, it was a lot of fun. My reading list is about to explode, but I couldn’t help putting MISTWOOD at the very top!
I’m jealous! I would have loved to have come. sigh. But I did finish Mistwood in one night as it is completely unputdownable. I am in love with it!
That is so fun that you got to get signed books AND frolic with other writer/bloggers!! I love events like that!
Ello, I wish you could have teleported here for it! So many people have told me MISTWOOD is “unputdownable” – I’ll have to clear my schedule before I start reading it!
Kelly, I haven’t been to lots of book signings/launches thus far, but they are so much fun, especially if you can meet up with fellow writers and bloggers. I’m definitely planning on going to more events in the future!
Aw, you look so cute with your glasses.
I’ve seen MISTWOOD in the bookstore and I’m intrigued with the blurb. Must add to my leaning tower(s) of books.
Mistwood has been on my to-read list. You just moved it higher. Sounds like a fun event!
jealous
Thanks, Karen! I used to wear contacts all the time, but my eyes decided they’d had quite enough. I’m sure we’ll both like MISTWOOD – it sounds like our kind of book.
Haha, Jon, I love how much you convey with a single word.
How fun to meet everyone in person!
Oh, how much fun you guys must have had!
Thanks for putting up pictures of the launch party. I can imagine being there, hearing everyone laugh and chatter, such a happy time. Sigh.
Congratulations, Leah!
